Honey Alarm

A wake-up routine tool for people who turn off alarms and fall back asleep.

Honey Alarm is an Android alarm app for people who have a hard time getting out of bed. It is not a medical treatment and it does not claim to cure sleep inertia or any sleep disorder. Instead, it gives you a more deliberate wake-up routine: missions you have to complete to dismiss the alarm, strong alarm sounds, random and rotating sound playback so your brain does not tune the sound out, and wake-up check missions that fire after you have already dismissed the alarm.

A typical alarm assumes that, once you hear it, you will get up. But for many people the problem is not hearing the alarm — it is what happens between hearing it and standing up. The brain in early-morning sleep inertia can dismiss alarms almost on autopilot, fall back asleep within seconds, or learn to ignore the same sound night after night.

Honey Alarm cannot fix an underlying sleep disorder, insufficient sleep time, or a misaligned circadian rhythm. If you are sleeping enough hours but still cannot wake up, or if you fall asleep uncontrollably during the day, please talk to a doctor or a sleep specialist.
